Helen Galarowicz

Galarowicz, Helen J. COTTAGE GROVE - Helen J. Galarowicz, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at her home. She was born on March 19, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of John and Stella Rymut. Helen was united in marriage to Vincent Galarowicz on Feb. 7, 1942. She and her husband co-founded Galar Industries Inc. She served as secretary/treasurer and bookkeeper for many years. Helen is survived by her son, Dennis (LeaRae); and grandson, Aaron; daughter, Audrey (Robert) Williamson; and granddaughters, Hayley (Charles) Tessier and Heather; and daughter, Karen (Don) Ehlenfeldt; and granddaughters, Anne and Angela. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vince; two brothers; and three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5306 Main St., McFarland, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, with Father D. Stephen Smith presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, followed by a celebration of her life with food and fellowship until 7 p.m. There will also be a visitation at church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Heart Association or to HospiceCare Inc. Helen had a special charisma and warmth that drew people to her. She was known by many for her exceptional cooking and baking.
