Mildred Becker

Becker, Mildred J. MADISON - Mildred J. Becker, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at HospiceCare. She was born on May 3, 1919, in Gideon, Mo., the daughter of James and Lola (Jones) Kite. Mildred was united in marriage to Edward J. Becker on June 17, 1950, in Milwaukee. She was a waitress at Rennebohms for many years and later she owned and operated a yarn shop on Monona Drive. Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Bob) Williams of Salamanca, N.Y. and Mary (Dan Whitaker) Becker of Madison; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Deanna) Phelan of Hermiston, Ore., Sara (Andrew) Hartwig of Madison, Brett (Bobbi) Welch of Madison, Megan (Andrew) Kinsey of San Diego, Calif. and Rebecca (Ariel) Martinez of Madison; two step-grandchildren, Kathy (Brian) Williams and Christopher (Maira) Wagner; and seven great-grandchildren, Selena Phelan, Christina Hartwig, Gabriella Phelan, Antonio Martinez, Alexander Kinsey, Brett Sommer and Christopher Wagner Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents; five brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, with the Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare.
