Norma Putnam

Putnam, Norma E. MADISON - Norma E. Putnam, age 87, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007. She was born on Aug. 27, 1920, in Madison, the daughter of Raymond and Rose Putnam. Norma graduated from Oregon High School and then went to Madison to work for Gordon Kay, John Meehan, Pat Lucey and Weber Realty, doing real estate closing transactions for many years. After retirement, she volunteered two days a week in the church office at the VA Hospital, which was close to her home and received recognition for volunteering for more than 8750 hours. Norma is survived by a brother, Richard (Vera) Putnam; a sister, Doris (Gordon) Owen; four nieces, Jacquelene Bratton, Valorie Owen, Anna Morgan and Mary Foley; five nephews, Ronald Steichen, Lee Owen, Greg Owen, Dennis Owen and Mark Owen; and special friends, Angela Smith, Joyce Lowe, Naomi Bekkum and Katie McAuley. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Denton and Ramona Steichen; a brother, Stanley Putnam; and a special friend, Tom Burke. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, with the Rev. Lil Belusa-Roberts presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to Vilas Park Zoo or Dane County Humane Society.
