Obituary
Schultz, Donna M. MADISON - Donna M. Schultz (Toebe), age 76, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Sunny Hill Health Care Center in the care of Hospice. She was born on July 2, 1931, in Rio Creek, Wis., the daughter of Louis and Nellie (Roger) Toebe. Donna enjoyed sports, played volleyball in high school and went to basketball and baseball games with her father. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers Fan! Donna attended Howe School for the Deaf, Washington Junior High School and East High School in Green Bay. While growing up, she lived and helped out on the family farm until she married. Donna met Vern Schultz at a Wisconsin Association for the Deaf (WAD) convention in Appleton, in June of 1957. After dating for about a year, Vern "popped the question" on Valentines Day 1958. They were married the following year on June 20th at St Johns Lutheran Church, Kewaunee, Wis. Donna enjoyed attending church services, camping and many social events. She also loved to travel. She went to Europe with her husband and friends, attended a Packer game in New Orleans, spent a weekend in Cedarburg, and last year took a trip to Hawaii. This year, for Mothers day and her birthday, she went to Wisconsin Dells and won some money at HoChunk! Donna worked for Ray O Vac for 10 years and Newell Office Products for 12 years, before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Wisconsin Association for the Deaf, Madison Association for the Deaf, National Association for the Deaf, The Happy 55 Club, Our Savior Lutheran Deaf Church and The Womens Guild of Our Savior Deaf Lutheran Church. Donna and Vern raised two daughters, Ruby and Judy Schultz. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern, who died in 2001; and her parents, Louis and Nellie (Roger) Toebe. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at ST. PAULS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2126 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. John Reinke presiding. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Middleton Junction Cemetery, Middleton. Her family would like to thank HospiceCare, UW Physicians, The Hyperbaric Oxygen Team at St Lukes in Milwaukee, Sunny Hill Health Care Center and all her dear friends, too many to mention, but you know who you are! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Savior Deaf Church in Madison, Madison Association for the Deaf, HospiceCare or the American Cancer Society. Donna will always be saying Go Packers!!!
