Delma Brensike

Brensike, Delma I. MADISON - Delma I. Brensike, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007. She was born on June 15, 1920, in Madison, to Fred and Lena (Marty) Gerber. Delma graduated from Madison East High School in 1937. She married V. John Brensike in 1941. Delma worked for the state of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources, for more than 20 years. She was an avid bowler, participating in many leagues for more than 40 years. Delma bowled over 200 many times and at age 86, she bowled over 180. She loved gardening, especially her rose garden, was a huge Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan, and watched the game show network daily. Delma especially enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards with them. She is survived by her sister and friend for life, Doris Hoppe of Madison; daughters, Sandy (Gary) Wolfe of Middleton and Kathy (Phil) Stittleburg of LaFarge; grandchildren, Scott (Debbie) Brensike, Adam (Karen) Wolfe, Doreen Brensike, Eve (Richard) Primus, Karl Brensike, Julie Brensike and Sandra (Jeff) Wolfe Citty; great-grandchildren, Meghan Wolfe, Willow Wolfe, Matthew Citty, Ryan and Cara Brensike, and two on the way; daughter-in-law, Linda Brensike of Maryland; and nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. Delma was preceded in death by her husband, V. John Brensike, in 1961; son, John F. Brensike in 1984; and grandson, Eric Wolfe in 1997. Funeral services will be held at MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 5705 Lacy Road, Fitchburg, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, with the Rev. Bonnie Van Overbeke presiding. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. In recognition of Delmas love for flowers, floral arrangements are welcomed. Memorials may be made to Memorial United Church of Christ or to 9 Health Fair.
