Obituary
Tereba, Annette Jane VERONA - Annette Jane Tereba, age 85, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007. She was born on April 7, 1922, in Winfield, Kan., the oldest daughter of Harold and Olivia (Falkinburgh) Miller. Annette received her nursing degree from The Wesley Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, Kan., in 1944, and served as a supervisor in the nursery. She married Louis Carl Tereba on Dec. 15, 1944, while he was undergoing training in the U.S. Army. After brief stays in Bloomington, Ind., and Cicero, Ill., they moved into a home in Elmhurst, Ill., in 1949. This would be her home until a stroke forced her to move to an assisted living facility in Fitchburg in 1995, to be closer to her family. She was currently a resident at Four Winds Nursing Home in Verona. Annette was a dedicated mother who raised her two children and was active in the Lutheran church, PTA, cub scouts and girl scouts. She enjoyed sewing, reading and taking care of her home and dog. In her later years, she enjoyed visits with her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Annette is survived by her son, Allan (Barbara) Tereba of Fitchburg; daughter, Diana (Ed) Setposki of Fletcher, N.C.; six grandchildren, Christina (Jason) Himebauch, Daniel Tereba, Jonathan (Annie) Tereba, Elizabeth (Luther) Leith, Nicholas Mattes and Allison Mattes; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Kathryn Himebauch. A memorial service and burial will be at ACACIA PARK CEMETERY, Chicago, Ill., where she will be reunited with her husband. We are grateful for the care that Ann received at Four Winds Nursing Home, by her Hospice nurses, and for the visits and prayers of the pastors and members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
