Obituary

Utter, Joyce Olive (Cook) MADISON - Joyce Olive (Cook) Utter, age 68, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at her home. She was born on May 11, 1939, in Riley, to William and Jessie Mae (Reed) Cook. Joyce retired from her job with the U.S. Post Office in the early 90s, after 30 years of service. She then embarked on her own business venture, opening Jessicas Dollhouse and Senior Craft Outlet on Winnebago Street, named after her granddaughter. The past several years, Joyce spent much of her time at the Prime Table Restaurant on Monona Drive, greeting and serving customers and friends. Joyce was a loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to many people. She was also an avid bowler and she loved to dance. Her favorite times were times spent with family and friends. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Ed) Zeier; granddaughter, Jessica Zeier; sisters, Shirley (Sigurd) Gulvik and Audrey (Harvey) Theobald; in-laws, Katie Cook, Jackie and Bud Utter, Jean Swalheim, Bonnie and Ted Peterson and Peg and Phil Croom; ex-husband, Fred Utter; numerous nieces and nephews; the Gani and Helena Ahmetaj family; and many friends, who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by infant children; her parents; two sisters; and a brother. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, with Father John Meinholz presiding.
