McGaw, Genevieve "Jenny" FITCHBURG/ OREGON - Genevieve McGaw, age 83, died peacefully near her family, following a short battle with cancer, in the early morning hours on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007. She was born on June 8, 1924, in the town of Vienna, to Joseph and Genevieve Mooney. Jenny graduated from Oregon High School in 1942. She married the love of her life, Kenneth McGaw, on July 6, 1948, in Dubuque, Iowa. Jenny and Ken had 12 children. She worked for much of her life in restaurant business. Jenny was employed for the past 26 years for Madison Newspapers Inc., retiring at age 82. She took great pride in her family, her home and her two cats. Jenny maintained strong friendships with her classmates and her co-workers. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family. Jenny is survived by her children, Edward of Tampa, Fla., David (Karen) of Oregon, Samuel of Glendale, Ariz., Kenneth (Linda) of Fitchburg, John of Fitchburg, William (Cathy) of Blue Mounds, Jean (Randy) Larsen of Brooklyn, James of Fitchburg and Dennis of Fitchburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, Joseph and Genevieve Mooney; daughters, Jane LaValley and JoAnn McGaw; son, Mark McGaw; granddaughter, Katherine Jean McGaw; brother, Joseph Mooney; and sisters, Loretta Caruso, Mary Klubertanz, Rita Nevel, Teresa Femrite and Kathleen Kohlman. A memorial gathering will be held at FITCHBURG COMMUNITY CENTER, 5510 Lacy Road, Fitchburg, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007.
