Barman, Doris M. Black Earth/Cross Plains - Doris Marie Barman, age 78, passed away Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Heartland Country Village in Black Earth. She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Lodi, to Jake and Dora (Miller) Benish. She married Robert J. Barman Sr. on May 13, 1948, in Lodi. Doris was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and was a member of the C.C.W. She farmed with her husband for close to 50 years, and enjoyed polka dancing and crocheting. Doris is survived by her children, Dave (Jan) Barman of Waunakee, Sandra Nowak of New Berlin, Jim (Penny) Barman of Black Earth, Tom (Jackie) Barman of Waunakee, Charles Barman of Black Earth and Bob Jr. (Kathy) Barman of Lodi; twelve grandchildren, Greg (Jessie), Ken (Kira) and Jeff Barman, R.J. and Joe Pat Nowak, Teri Ann and Brian (fianc Shannon Hinrichs) Barman, Nick, Eddy and Andy Barman, Jenny (fianc Brandon Waldsmith) and Sarah Barman; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Lena Barman. Her sisters and brother; Katherine Heiman, Lillian Nelson, Francis Bjerke, Helen (Clifford) Paepke and John (Linda) Benish; and her extended family on the Barman side. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Barman Sr.; her parents; brothers and sister-in-law, Bob Heiman, Will Nelson, Shirley Bjerke, and MaryAnn Benish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or American Diabetes Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sr. John Rose for all her loving concern, kind words and sense of humor; to Dr. Hupp for her years of dedication; and to the wonderful, caring and supportive staff of Heartland Country Village, "You are the best!" "A Wonderful Mother" God made a wonderful mother, a mother who never grows old; He made her smile of pure gold; in her eyes He placed bright shining stars, in her cheeks, fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother and He gave that dear mother to us.
