Eunice Hansen

Hansen, Eunice M. MADISON - Eunice Mildred Hansen, age 78, passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday Sept. 22, 2007, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center surrounded by her family. She was born on Aug. 21, 1929 in Madison, the daughter of Stanley and Mildred (Hoiby) Swenson. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1947. Eunice later married Walter Hansen on Sept. 3, 1955 in Madison. They were blessed with five children, to whom Eunice devoted her time as a stay at home mother. When her children were older, she began a 20 year career as a legal assistant with a local law firm. Eunice is survived by son, Daniel (Judy) Hansen of Mount Horeb; daughter, Patti (Ernie) Salangsang of Madison; daughter, Teri (Paul) Fenne of McFarland; son, Rick (Brenda) Hansen of Madison; and son, Tom (Kim) Hansen of Phoenix, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley (Phyllis) Swensen of Jacksonville, Fla. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Walter in 2003. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, with Chaplain Bob Groth presiding. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family extends a special thanks to HospiceCare for their care and compassion.
