Obituary
Affholder, Olivette M. MADISON - Olivette M. Affholder, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, surrounded by her family at the HospiceCare Center. She was born on June 2, 1921, the daughter of Michael and Rebecca (Jones) Kennedy. Olivette graduated from Waunakee High School in 1940. After Edgewood College opened enrollment to women, Olivette was part of the first graduating class in 1944 with a bachelors degree in education. She began her teaching career in Mauston right after graduation. Olivette was united in marriage to Anthony Affholder on Nov. 26, 1944, at St. Marys of the Lake Catholic Church in Westport. In November 2006, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She was a lifelong member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Olivette is survived by her loving family; sons, Timothy (Caroline), Michael (Lora) and Anthony III; daughters, Attracta Kennedy, Anthonette (Richard) Gilpatrick and Shawn (Thomas) Munz; grandchildren, Colette, Brianna, Michaela, Michael, Rebecca, Adrianne and Timothy Jr.; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Anthony on Jan. 28, 2007; son, Jeffrey Girard; brothers, Rodney, Quentien, Damain and Adrian; and sisters, Muriel, Colette and Rebecca. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding.
