Harriet Wood

Wood, Harriet F. STURGIS, S.D./ MADISON - Harriet F. Wood, age 88, died on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, after a long struggle with Parkinsons disease. She was born on Sept. 3, 1919, in Bloomer, the daughter of Olaf and Dagmar (Johnson) Felland. Harriet attended Frank Allis Elementary and Madison East High School. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for a short time. Harriet married Delbert H. Wood on Aug. 6, 1942. The couple resided in Madison and Wesley Chapel, Fla. Harriet was a kind and quiet person, who enjoyed her family. She liked to play card games and had a wry sense of humor. Harriet was particularly fond of chocolates and many other sweets. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Steven) Goff, Janice (Randall) Dodge, William (Cathy) Wood and David (Marjorie) Wood; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Patrick) Uekert, Nicole (Michael) Porter, Jason Dodge, Laura Dodge, Kyle (Janet) Goff, Julie Huffman, Leah Goff and Jennifer (Clint) Oedekoven; and four great-grandchildren. Harriet was preceded in death by her son, Thomas D. Wood; her husband; parents; a brother; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
