Obituary
Arndt, Gerald O. OREGON - Gerald O. Arndt, age 71, died on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, at home with his family at his side, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born on Feb. 10, 1936, in the town of Lake Mills, the son of Louis Sr. and Alma (Ortman) Arndt. On Oct. 6, 1956, Jerry was united in marriage to the former Queenie Thompson, in Brooklyn. He worked most of his life in the Heating and Air Conditioning business as both an employee and business owner. Jerry was an active member of the Oregon Masonic Lodge No. 151, Scottish Rite Bodies, Zor Shrine Nomads and Escort Patrol. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed many successful hunting trips with family and friends. One of his greatest enjoyments was spending time at the family cottage in Tomahawk and being involved in his grandchildren?s lives. He also enjoyed listening to Brewers games. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Queenie of Oregon; two sons, Larry (Sheri) Arndt of Stoughton and Terry (Jill) Arndt of Brooklyn; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Ryan; a brother, Louis Jr. (Kay) of Tomahawk and their children; his sister-in-law, Lois Peterson of Evansville and her children; and by many other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his in-laws, Elmer and Louise Thompson. Services will be held at OREGON MASONIC LODGE NO. 151, 201 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007. Private burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the Masonic Lodge from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
