Helen Strasburg

Strasburg, Helen B. WAUNAKEE - Helen B. Strasburg, age 91, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Middleton Village. She was born on Dec. 26, 1915, in LaValle, the daughter of Robert and Martha (Stone) Woolever. Helen was united in marriage to Christ Strasburg on July 19, 1935, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 1986. She worked for Quality Service Laundry for 33 years before joining the housekeeping staff at Meriter Hospital where she worked for 10 years until her retirement. After retiring, she volunteered at Central Wisconsin Center as a foster grandparent for 19 years. Helen had a variety of interests including fishing and ballroom dancing and had especially enjoyed crocheting and sewing gifts for her family. Helen is survived by her daughter, Patricia Norder, of Waunakee; a grandson, Kevin Norder; a great-grandson, Austin Norder, both of Stoughton; four step-brothers; two step-sisters and a loving friend, Ronald Arneson of Waunakee. In addition to her husband, Christ Strasburg, she was preceded in death by her parents. Committal services will be held at SUNSET MEMORY GARDENS CHAPEL, 7302 Mineral Point Road, Madison at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, with Pastor Karin Kiener presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
