Obituary

Prihoda, Joyce M. MADISON-Joyce Marie Prihoda, loving wife and mother, age 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. She was born on May 24, 1931, in Stratford, the daughter of William and Josephine (Handrick) Bradley. Joyce was united in marriage to George Prihoda on May 28, 1960. She was a friendly and welcoming face at Soupcon in Madison, for many years. Joyce was a member and friend of Gaylords Catering team and worked for Per Mar Security at all the Badgers sporting events. She was a devoted member of St. Dennis Catholic Church family. Joyce enjoyed playing all sports from early in high school and also watching her grandchildrens sporting events. She was an avid Badgers and Packers fan. Joyce is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, George; a son, Bill (Kathie) Prihoda of Cross Plains; two daughters, Mary Jo (Michael) Clerkin of Dodgeville and Ann (Greg) Westrich of Waunakee; 10 grandchildren, Kayla and Connor Prihoda, Tony (Heather) Clerkin, Bradley, Christopher "Cookie," Michael, Matthew and Aaron Clerkin and Thomas "Tommy" and David Westrich; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua and Grace Clerkin; and a sister-in-law, Ethyl Bradley of Marshfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dottie and Muriel; and a brother, Robert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center.
