Harold Buskager

Buskager, Harold Sanford MADISON - Harold Sanford Buskager, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at Don and Marilyn HospiceCare Center. He was born on Oct. 12, 1913, in the Town of Blooming Grove, the son of Louis and Lucia (Rodefeld) Buskager. He graduated from Poynette High School in 1930. In 1936, he met his life companion, Luella Klahn and they married in 1940. As a young man he farmed in Leeds and Cottage Grove. He worked for 31 years at Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1977. Harolds main hobbies were fishing and hunting. He was a loyal fan of the Badgers and Packers. Harolds family reveled in listening to his stories about the enormity of changes he had seen in his long life, such as riding a horse to school, to the purchase of his beloved automatic 1974 Pontiac LeMans. He remained mentally active with current events all over the world. He loved dogs and horses. Harold and Luella used to travel to Arlington Park yearly to watch the races. Harold was a member of Monona Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1956. Harold is survived by his wife, Luella of 66 years; two daughters, Karen of Puyallup, Wash., and Linda (Rick) Smith of Ill.; one son, Robert Buskager of Madison; four grandchildren, Michael (Mary Lou), Vincent, and Richard (Debbie) Pusateri, all of Washington state and Keith Wienke of Santa Monica, Calif., one granddaughter, Anna Wienke of Minneapolis, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Jason, Jonathan, Rebekah, and Luke Pusateri all of Washington state; and his faithful, loving dog, Scamp. He is preceded in death by his son, Sanford; parents; sister, Bernadine Meyer; and brothers, Lawrence and Russell. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, with the Rev. Jerry Kuhnke presiding. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
