Elaine Friedl

Friedl, Elaine E. MADISON - Elaine E. Friedl, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Oct. 20, 1924, in Madison, to Clement and Constance (Pulvermacher) Friedl. Elaine was the oldest of five children. She graduated from Madison West High School in 1942 and UW-Madison in 1946. Elaine was member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Sigma Lamda. She was a lifelong resident of Madison and was currently living at the beautiful Meadowmere Apartments, where she had many friends. Elaine worked for the University of Wisconsin, Cardiology Department and then for many years at Block Cleaners, as secretary/treasurer. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church. Elaine enjoyed oil painting, playing bridge and traveling. Her first love was her Arabian horse that she enjoyed training and riding. Elaine is survived by a sister, Marcia Eber; brother, James (Gail) Friedl; brother-in-law, Tom Butler; sister-in-law, Joyce Friedl; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bonnie Butler; and brother, William Friedl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Visitation will be held at church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
