Obituary
Hernan, Robert "Bob"MADISON-Robert "Bob" Hernan, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center, surrounded by his family. Bob was a real trooper, battling his illness for more than two years. He was born in Ash Creek, on Nov. 17, 1926, the son of John and Cora Hernan. Bob attended high school in Richland Center, where he participated in football, basketball and boxing. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on a destroyer from 1944 until 1946. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 2267. Bob owned and operated Hernan Plumbing and was a member of the Plumbers Local No. 75 for 52 years. His best times were spent at the cabin, where he went on seasonal hunting and fishing trips for more than 50 years. Bob also enjoyed horseshoes, playing cards and gambling. Bob is survived by his wife, Lorraine (they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Sept. 18, 2007); daughter, Lynn, whom he dearly loved; brothers, Buford (Edith), Vilas (Camillia) and Ed (Kae); and sisters, Ruth (Bud) Severson, Marianna (Walter) Monahan and Dorothy (Lawrence) Tadder. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at noon on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. "Dont worry about it."
