Obituary
Lendborg, Harriet R. MADISON - Harriet R. Lendborg, age 89, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007. She was born on May 12, 1918, in Spring Valley, Ill., the daughter of Ralf and Helen (DeBarr) Runge. Harriet was united in marriage to Basil Lendborg. She worked for the State of Wisconsin-Department of Health and Human Services, retiring after 30 3/4 years. Harriet was an active member of Lake Edge United Church of Christ. She was a volunteer at American Red Cross, starting in 1985, until just recently. Harriet enjoyed embroidery and needle craft. She also enjoyed camping with the Bell-Ringers and the Wis Singles. Harriet is survived by her children, William (Wanda) Strange Sr. of Orlando, Fla., Ralf (Shirley) Lendborg of Menahga, Minn. and Karen Buckley of Sun Prairie; son-in-law, Roger Buckley of Deerfield; grandchildren, William (Linda) Strange Jr., Patricia Strange, Susan Strange, Lisa Strange, David (Cindy) Lendborg, Daniel Lendborg, Debra Buckley, Kim (Doug Busse) Buckley and Bryan (Jill Hagerty) Buckley; six great-granddaughters, Emylee Lendborg, Tabitha Buckley, Tanya Buckley, Allison Lendborg and Megan and Peyton Lendborg; and sisters, Elaine Clair and Clara Jilbert. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil; her parents; a brother, Edwin and a granddaughter, Brenda Strange. Funeral services will be held at LAKE EDGE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, 4200 Buckeye Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, with the Rev. Paul Shupe presiding. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007. Memorials may be made to the church or to American Red Cross. A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at University Hospital-Cardiac Unit, for all the care they gave Harriet.
