John Andrews

Andrews, John ALBANY - John Andrews, age 46, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Woods Crossing, Brodhead, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Dec. 17, 1960, in Encino, Calif., the son of James and Mary Andrews. John joined the U.S. Air Force in 1979, and retired after 16 years of service. He then moved to Wisconsin where he worked for Gordon Flesh. John was united in marriage to Andrea ?Ann? Goff on Sept. 24, 1986. Together they lived in California, North Dakota and Wisconsin. They lived in Oregon for a few years before buying a house in Albany. He was a member of the Albany American Legion Post No. 144. John loved hunting and fishing with his best buddy, Josh, his grandson. Cooking was another passion of John?s and his spaghetti and meatballs were a family legend. He was also an artist like his dad. John is survived by his loving wife, Ann of Albany; two daughters, Dawn and Karen of Albany; his father, James F. (Ann) Andrews Sr. of Newhall, Calif.; two brothers, Joe (Terri) of Castaic, Calif., and Jim Jr. of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren, Joshua, Robbie, James, Maryann and Mark; and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and a son, Jeff. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007. Burial will be at Prairie Mound Cemetery, with military rites conducted. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. John will be missed by family and friends. He will be in our hearts forever.
