Obituary

Gorman, Roger H. CROSS PLAINS - Roger H. Gorman, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. He was born on April 21, 1930, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Regina (Zander) Gorman. Roger was a graduate of Madison Edgewood High School and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Monroe Beauty Supply in Madison, as a sales representative for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2002. Roger was an avid sports fan and had pitched for the Cross Plains Home Talent baseball team for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Knights and the Cross Plains American Legion Post No. 245. Roger is survived by three sons, Michael, Brian (Deidra) and Christopher (Cathleen); four grandchildren, Haydn, Bailey, Harrison and Helen; and special nieces and nephews, who treated him as family, Jane Loring, Donna Fruin, Daniel Thompson, Mary Bawinkel and Jon Thompson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine; his parents; a sister, Ethel Thompson; and a nephew, James Thompson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2007, with Father Thomas Kelley presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
