Obituary
Ketter, Charles E. MADISON/DEFOREST - Charles Edward Ketter, age 75, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 20, 1931, in Iola Kansas, the son of Al M. and Rose Clara (Zeller) Ketter. Charles left home at age 16 when he moved to Pontiac, Michigan. At age 19, in 1950, he joined the Air Force. Until 1954, he was stationed in Japan. In 1957 he rejoined the service until 1961. He married Lanora (Grieshammer) Wild on Jan. 2, 1959. She preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2002. Charles served in the Air Force for eight years, starting in the Korean War. He worked for the Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Charles loved harness horse racing, baseball, football, and Badger and Packer games, and doing odd jobs around the house. He had many dear friends at Parkside Village. Charles is survived by his two children, Terry (Gary) Regge and Randy Wild; two grandchildren, Jamie (Kenneth) Dalton and Troy (Stevie Duren) Regge; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Dalton, Kasidi Dalton, and Riley Duren; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Ellis, Bob (Ila) Ketter, Lois (Don) Turnbaugh, and AnnaMae (Mike) Frappier. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lanora; his parents; and siblings, Richard Ketter, Millie Myers, twins, Jean and Ilene Ketter, and Don Ketter. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
