Angelyn Helleckson

Helleckson, Angelyn M. MIDDLETON - Angelyn M. Helleckson, age 83, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007, at the Rest Haven Health Care Center. She was born on June 13, 1924, in Fitchburg, the daughter of John and Eleanor (Noltner) Crapp. Angelyn was united in marriage to Palmer C. "Porky" Helleckson on Nov. 28, 1946, in Madison. Together, she and her husband owned and operated Porkys Motel of Middleton for 44 years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 8216 of Middleton. Angelyn is survived by three sons, John E. (Marilyn) of Cross Plains, Ted (Marita) of Middleton, and Tom (Vicki) of Cross Plains; six grandchildren, Ann (Jeff) Pytel, Joleen (Marty) Breunig, Michael (Tracy) Helleckson, Marcia (Dave) Rosecky, Ted Jr. (Laura) Helleckson and Julie (Mat) Brosamle; four great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Breunig, and Andrew and Nicole Pytel; three brothers, Leroy, Walter and Rodney; two sisters, Dolores Groff and Ruth Ann Bauhs; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and four brothers, Richard, Victor, David and Robert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2007, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton. Friends may also call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in memory of Angelyn, to the Wisconsin Alzheimers Institute, 7818 Big Sky Drive, Suite 215, Madison, WI 53719; or to St. Bernards Catholic Church. Angelyns family wishes to thank the staff at Alterra and Rest Haven for their care and compassion given to her over the last several years.
