LaCinda Burchell was a rare type of person you don't meet that often in life. With the hustle of life in these United States sparing no one from stress, Cindy always found a way to bring a laugh or smile to the room. Thus making the day and life of others around her better. I thank God for having Cindy in my life. Cindy always thought of me first in our relationship. Being my Godmother she was at every major event in my life. She was at birthdays, Christmas, when she could, confirmation from church, graduation(twice I think, even from college), and my largest event to date, my wedding. It is the opinion of my wife and I that she knew of her fate even before our wedding. She was there smiling, crying and hugging as if I were her own son who got married. She had FUN at my reception and we talked for quite awhile that day. A gift from God, I feel, since we lived a distance apart. I really appreciated that more than she will ever have known. It was only after our special day that she broke the news that she had a terrible disease. Cindy will always be a guide for me in life because she showed me how to give yourself first to others and then think about yourself. The world is worse off every time a rare person like Cindy leaves us. She was always the face of optimism, energy and smiles. I can't recall, no matter how hard I try, to think of a time she was not smiling, laughing, or giving hugs and saying a good word. I cry freely as I type this because it hurts to think of not seeing her smile , laugh, and give hugs anymore. I love you Cindi and I pray for your rest in heaven. The pain is over and you are forever His. God Bless the Burchell family during this hard time. Amen.

As I think back on the times of our life together I come to one undeniable conclusion, endings are painful. I miss her now and I know I shall miss her for all of my natural life. She came to me full of energy and enthusiasm, always making each day an adventure. Someone to be treasured above all else. How do you put into words what was in a look, a glance, or just a simple gesture? She made me complete. Gone is the unbridled passions for creating and learning. Gone is the light of my light, the stars in my night, and all that makes a person an angel on earth. She strived to make me be the best person I could be. More than I could ever see by myself. She molded me and guided me through the early years when my fashion sense was non-existent. Never leaving me to embarrass myself while I grew with her. In later years it would be me holding her hand and not letting anyone see her in a bad light. The ravages of disease made her vulnerable to not seeing how she looked to others. I protected her from these things even though she didn't see herself that way. I have lost my confidant, my late night counselor when I thought I had lost my way. She could always see the good in me and I in her. She reflected a quiet grace whever she went. I strive to be the person she thinks I am and the person she would want me to be. I due this in tribute to my best friend and wife. I will gratefully go to her as soon as God needs me. I live for the day when I once again see her face and know that it is an expression of love for me. In Gods name I pray for the time to be short. She is my everthing still. Thank you to everyone who touched her life. With overreaching sadness I must wait till later to live the rest of my life.
