Marcella Strait

Strait, Marcella Jean "Sally" OREGON - Marcella Jean "Sally" Strait, age 64, passed away peacefully at HospiceCare Inc., on Thursday, July 26, 2007, with Susan Watters, her trusted caregiver at her side. She was born on June 23, 1943, in Marshfield, the daughter of Edward and Alberta St. Dennis. Sally married Archie Freeman Strait, son of Don and Dorothy Strait, on Jan. 19, 1963. She loved traveling, fishing, and wildlife. Sally just loved life in general. She received a heart transplant in 1998, she was very happy to get a second chance at life. Sally is survived by two daughters, Sherry Marie (Chuck) Strait of Madison and Brenda Lee (Paul) Butler of Waukesha; a grandson, Travis Archie Strait of Madison; two sisters, Sandi St. Dennis of Madison and Bernie (Mike) Pettsford Schuch of Louisville, Colo.; two stepsisters, Vicki Wakefield of Florida and Karen (Dave) Duchaven of Verona; and numerous in-laws and friends that loved her so much. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie; mother-in-law, Dorothy; a brother, Roger; most recently by a relative, Sonny Carson; and many other relatives. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2007. "Our sweety bird has flown away. She fought so very hard to stay. It broke her heart to leave us. The need from God was a must. Although we are so far apart. She still lives on in our hearts." -S.W.
