Orlow Johnson

Johnson, Orlow R. CHETEK/ MADISON - Orlow R. Johnson, age 83, of Chetek, formerly of Madison, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Clairmont Nursing Home in Eau Claire, following a brief illness. He was born on April 23, 1924, to Albert and Lucille (Olstad) Johnson. Orlow worked for Oscar Mayer for 33 years. After his retirement, he and his wife, Isabelle moved to Chetek. There he enjoyed fishing and having family come to visit. Orlow was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. He is survived by his brother, Arlyn (Helen) Johnson of Fitchburg; two sisters, Norma (Rolland) Dibbert of Madison and Gloria (Ron) Evert of Fitchburg; two brothers-in-law, Ed Johnson and Jim Williams; sister-in-law, Helen Starch; two step-children, Elmer (Kathy) Lee and Rose (Ron) Herbst; eight step-grandchildren; special friend, Bea Windling; wonderful neighbor and friend, Norm Hoff; and is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Isabelle; three sisters, Elsie Johnson, Virginia Johnson and Doris Williams and two brothers-in-law, Julian Johnson and Earl Starch. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, with the Rev. Dan Dibbert presiding. Burial will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens in Madison. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
