Evelyn Windau

Windau, Evelyn B. MADISON - Evelyn B. Windau, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007, after a short illness. She was born on Dec. 21, 1917, in Dundee, Ill. Evelyn graduated from Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Ill., in 1937. She was an R.N. at University Hospital and Madison General Hospital for many years. After her nursing career she continued giving of herself to family, friends and as a volunteer at Meriter Hospital. Along with volunteering her time, Evelyn and her husband, owned and operated Seipel Jewelry Store on Monroe Street for several years. She was a member of Orchard Ridge United Church of Christ. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 68 years, Paul; two children, Judy (Darius) Van Fossen and James (Laurie) Windau; six grandchildren, Vicki, Todd, Jim, Jacquie, Jennifer and Melanie; and nine great-grandchildren, Erin, Jordan, Claire, Stephanie, Carter, Allison, Christina, Jonathan and Abigail. Funeral services will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 10 a.m., on Monday, July 30, 2007, with the Rev. Winton Boyd presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2007.
