Richard Heimbruch

Heimbruch, Richard E. COTTAGE GROVE - Richard E. Heimbruch, age 83, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Jan. 26, 1924, to Conrad and Vienna Heimbruch. Richard served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years and fought for our country during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Navy in March 1963. Richard then worked as a building service engineer for the state of Wisconsin for more than 20 years. He spent a lot of time at his home in Arkdale. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed fixing things, from plumbing, electrical to cars, there wasn?t anything he couldn?t fix. Richard is survived by his daughter, Gale (James) Koch of Cottage Grove; son, Richard (Janet) Heimbruch of Waunakee; stepdaughter, Carol Bottoms of Georgia; stepsons, Palmer (Jane) Hults of Fitchburg and David (Pat) Hults of Stoughton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Toby. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Ruth Heimbruch; his wife of 32 years, Karisma Heimbruch; his parents; brothers, Howard Heimbruch and Carl Heimbruch; and sisters, Lorraine Campbell, Marge Kostrzak and Elsie Frenche. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, with Pastor Vernon Awes presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by the Madison Veterans Firing Squad.
