Romeis, William J. "Jim" RICHLAND CENTER/ MARSHALL - William J. "Jim" "Romy" Romeis, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, surrounded by his family and friends, after a brief battle against cancer . He was born on Oct. 20, 1941, in Richland Center, to William C. and Cleo L. (Sandmire) Romeis. Jim graduated from Richland Center High School in 1959. He married Muriel "Lynn" Rohn on Sept. 14, 1963. Jim worked for Mautz Paint/ Sherwin Williams for 37 years, retiring in 2005. He loved to fly small planes and recently talked about flying again. Jim loved taking long rides through the countryside and had a lifelong love of motorcycles, trapshooting and baking pies and desserts. He was very proud of his baking abilities. Jims dog, Toby, was always by his side. Jim is survived by his children, Alan (Lisa) Romeis of DeForest, Holly (Chris) Truitt of DeForest and Faron Romeis of Marshall; six grandchildren, Jamie Truitt, William Romeis, Mackenzie Truitt, Aysha Romeis, Carter Truitt and Annaleise Romeis; mother-in-law, Lula Rohn of Lone Rock/ Mesa, Ariz.; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn, in 2003; his parents; granddaughter, Alyssa Truitt; and father-in-law, Willard Rohn. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2007, with the Rev. Bruce Loewenhagen presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
