William Taplick

Taplick, William C. "Bill" STOUGHTON - William C. "Bill" Taplick, age 64, went to his eternal home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 14, 2007, after a brave fight with cancer. He was born on Dec. 25, 1942, in Madison, to Walter and Margaret (Burmeister) Taplick. Bill graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1960, attended Milton Junior College and received his associate degree in computer programming from Madison Area Technical College. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in An Khe, Vietnam from 1965 until 1966 and finished his tour of duty at Fort Meyer, Va., in 1968. Bill enjoyed hunting with his sons, daughter and granddaughter and participated as a member of the NRA. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, working with the Stoughton High School Madrigals, singing in Stoughton Festival Choir, working with the Stoughton Music Boosters and enjoyed working with crafts. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. Bill is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Glenda (Whitfield) Taplick; his sons, Eric (Kristin) of Brooklyn, Jeffery of Edgerton and Bradley (Eileen) of St. Paul, Minn.; a daughter, Heather (Robert Dawson) Taplick of Janesville; a granddaughter, Kaylie of Stoughton; three grandsons, Jacob, Ryan and Connor of Brooklyn; step-mother, Marion (Warne) Taplick of Waunakee; step-brother, Donald (Nancy) Reineke of Stoughton; sister-in-law, Deloris Johnston of Cleburne, Texas; aunt, Kay Taplick of Madison; and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Thomas Allen Taplick. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 North at Jackson Street, Stoughton, at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, with a HospiceCare Inc. chaplain presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday, June 18, 2007, and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HospiceCare of Janesville. A special thank you to all those who assisted during Bills illness. The staff at Stoughton Hospital, St. Marys Hospital, Meriter Rehab Center and Nazareth House. A very special thank you to HospiceCare. Kathy and Mary Lynn, you were an absolute Godsend. Thank you.
