Kohlman, Kathleen Margaret (Mooney) OREGON- Kathleen Margaret (Mooney) Kohlman died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, along with her cat, Gizmo. Kathy was the youngest of eight children born to Joseph and Genevieve (Walker) Mooney. She was born in Westport, soon after moving to a farm just outside of Oregon. She lived most of her life in the Oregon area. Kathy was an alumni of the Red Brick Building and Oregon High School, class of 1952. She earned a teaching certificate from Columbia County Normal School Teaching for a year at the Bass Lake Country School. Kathy was married to Paul Kohlman. They owned and operated Paul(tm)s Supermarket in Oregon for many years. During those years she was not only an excellent homemaker, but also a substitute teacher and religious education teacher at Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic School. She also worked as an education assistant in Special Education at the Oregon High School. For the past 23 years, she was employed by Attic Angels, as a nursing assistant. Kathy loved the residents and made many good friends there over the years. She was an excellent cook, but her own biggest critic. Christmas with Kathy was an unforgettable experience with all the lights, decorations, special dinners, cookies and bars. It was definitely her favorite holiday. She also enjoyed playing the Ã???slots and loved Ã???scratch off tickets. Her kitchen was decorated with so many Holstein cows she had collected over the years, we lovingly referred to her as Ã???Moo. Nothing meant more to her than her family. Kathy never learned to ride a bike or swim, but she was learning how to knit. A co-worker described her as being a Ã???little lady with a big heart.? How true it is! Ã???Moo? we couldn(tm)t have asked for a better Mom! Kathy is survived by a daughter, Mary; sons, Rick (Sue), Tom (Kay), Chuck (Mary) and Tim; six grandchildren, Joe, Bob, Ben, Dan, T.J. and Katie; sister and best friend, Jenny McGaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis; and siblings, Joe Mooney, Robert Mooney (infant), Mary Klubertanz, Loretta Caruso, Terese Femrite and Rita Nevel. Special thanks to Kathy(tm)s neighborhood friends (past and present) for their kindness and friendship over the years. A Memorial service will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 2, 2007, with Father Bill Connell and Father Ken Klink concelebrating.
