Killian, Robert D. BROOKLYN - Robert Dale Killian, age 61 of Brooklyn, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007. He was born on Dec. 5, 1945, in Cairo, Ill. and raised in Charleston, Mo., from a military family. He arrived in Madison in the early 1960s. Butch Cooper of Charleston-Sikleston, Mo. was like a brother and certainly a best friend. Other close friends Robert had growing up were Sammy Babs and Gerald Brown "Junior". Among his best friends in Wisconsin, were Sandy and Rod Sletten, Molly and Stan Jerdee, and John Mularkey. Bob was also cherished by his daughters friends as an endearing father-figure. He was a creative and passionate carpenter of 40 years for Local Union in Wisconsin, Charleston Carpentry, Capital Builders, and Rohde Construction. Bob cared about other people, often offering his help at no cost. He was always there for a person in need. He was a self taught mechanic, rebuilding cars. His favorite stop was Star Auto of Janesville. Robert is survived by his father, Ray Wheatley; his sister, Elizabeth A. Kay; his brother, Larry W. Wheatley; his wife, Bonita Lynn Killian; three daughters, Tina (TJ) Pelletter, Pamela L. Annen, and Regina (Reg) Schmidt; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Amber and Samantha Annen as well as Tanner Schmidt. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Charles Everet Killian; his mother, Jo. E. Wheatley; his uncle, Crawford Edwards Jr.; his aunt, Peggy A. Edwards White; and his grandparents, Crawford (Tissie) Edwards Sr.. Funeral services will be held at BROOKLYN COMMUNITY UNITED METHODST CHURCH, 201 Church St., Brooklyn, at 11 a.m. on Friday June 15, 2007, with the Rev. Gail Brown presiding. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2007, and also Friday at 10 a.m. at church until the time of the service.
