James Sandley

Sandley, James C. MADISON - James C. Sandley, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the Peter and Ellen Johnson HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg, after a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 10, 1936, in Madison, the son of Clifford and Kathryn (James) Sandley. Jim graduated from Madison East High School in 1954 and UW-Madison in 1964 and was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin Alumni Association. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim married Donna McGinnis on Feb. 1, 1958, in Westport. He worked for REA Express and then Oscar Mayer, retiring in 1992, after 26 years. Jim was an avid sports fan, following the Badgers, Packers, Brewers and Cubs. He especially enjoyed playing dominos and euchre on Wednesdays at Slices. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Donna; a daughter, Barbara (Bob) Stalker; two granddaughters, Sarah and Katie Stalker; two sisters, Jean (Rod Oliver) Lewis and Linda Johnson; and also several nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a niece, Kim Johnson. A memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
