Elaine Dahl

Dahl, Elaine V. MADISON/ DEFOREST - Elaine V. Dahl, age 78, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2007. She was born on Aug. 7, 1928, in Glendale, the daughter of William E. and Florence A. (Wetzel) Pitcel. A graduate from DeForest High School with the class of 1945 and had lived in the Madison area since 1955. Elaine was united in marriage to Philip A. Dahl on March 26, 1949, at Faith Lutheran Church in Morrisonville. She worked for Webcrafters Printing Co. for 32 years, before retiring in 1994. Was an avid knitter, loved spending time in her garden, dedicating all her attention to her roses. Elaine held a special place in her heart for her feline companion, Tuxedo and always said, "the highlight of her week was going to Ryans Beauty Shop." She will be deeply missed by her family including her daughter, Debra (Mark Sullivan) Dahl-Sullivan of DeForest; two sisters-in-law, Jean Pitcel of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Alice G. Noltmeyer of DeForest; special friends, Al and Beverly Reinke of Lodi; Tim Reinke of Minneapolis, Minn. and Michelle (Tim "J") Johnson of Madison; and is further survived by many nieces and nephews and her special feline companion, Tuxedo. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip; grandson, Philip James Sullivan; two brothers, William C. Pitcel and Ronald "R.W." Pitcel; and infant sister, Shirley. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Thursday, June 28, 2007, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry A. Olson presiding. Burial will be at Norway Grove Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church, DeForest; American Cancer Society or to Peter and Ellen Johnson HospiceCare Center. The family would like to express a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Alan Singer at the Dean Cardiology Dept.; Dr. Gina Utrie and her nurse, Julie; Dr. Michael Frontiera at Dean Oncology Department and Dr. Michael Zinda at Turville Bay; St. Marys Hospital and the Peter and Ellen Johnson HospiceCare Center for all the care and support they have shown Elaine and her family.
