Obituary

McNulty, Mina Lucille "Lucy" MADISON/ STOUGHTON - Mina Lucille "Lucy" McNulty, age 84, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Skaalen Home. She was born on Jan. 16, 1923, in Dodgeville, to Lloyd and Jeanette (Wicks) Reddell. Lucy married Jim McNulty on Aug. 3, 1942, in Dodgeville. Lucy worked for ATand T at the Madison downtown location for many years as a supervisor of telephone operators and retired in 1979. After retirement, Lucy was active in Pioneers and had many special friends. In her younger years, Lucy loved to dance and would dazzle us with her talent on the dance floor. In the spring and summers of every year, Lucy would spend her time creating her "victory" garden. It was rich and full, with not a weed to be found. She taught her family how to plant flowers and vegetables, and how to can and freeze the harvest. From her gardens over the years, Lucy generously gave to all the families and kept us with these garden delights through the winter. Lucy had a special relationship with animals. They trusted her instantly, and Lucy loved them and they loved her faithfully. She had several dogs and cats in her life but her most beloved was Mickey and Teddy. We will most remember Lucy as practical, independent, generous, self-reliant and fun to be around. To her family, she was teacher, confidant, and a place of unconditional love and forgiveness. Lucy loved and cared for all of her family every day of her life with wisdom, grace and compassion. She knew how to be in each one of our lives in a special and generous way. Lucy is survived by her son, Craig (Joan) McNulty of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Terry (John) Bollig of Stoughton, Jim (Kimberly) McNulty of Stoughton, and Sean McNulty of Cottage Grove; great-grandchildren, Bruce and Eric Grady, and Margret Lucille and Mary Kate McNulty, all of Stoughton; and a sister, Katherine (Victor) Leake of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; and stepmother, Hazel Reddell. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2007. Private family services will be held and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Skaalen Home, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, in care of Mina Lucy McNulty. We will miss Lucy and love her forever.
