Obituary
Stiegman, Irene O. COTTAGE GROVE/ MORRISONVILLE - Irene O. Stiegman, age 91, of Cottage Grove, formerly of Morrisonville, passed away peacefully in her "home" on Friday, June 15, 2007. She was born on Feb. 14, 1916, in Stoughton, to Carl and Anna (Jacobson) Amble. Irene married Curt Stiegman on Feb. 6, 1937, in Rockford, Ill. and they shared 68 years together before he passed away in 2006. Throughout her life she was primarily a stay at home mom, but she also worked part time jobs, just as a way of helping others when they needed it. Her last and most enjoyable job was in child care. Once the grandchildren were born, she devoted her life to them and was always there when needed to care for them. All six of her grandchildren loved spending the night at her house. Irene was blessed to have wonderful caregivers in her life and we can never thank them enough, Julie, Nancy and especially, Renee and her son, Adrian. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Stiegman and Nancy (John) Dinga; grandchildren, Rick (Dawn) Ness, Traci Elver, Kim Dinga, Mike (Jennifer) Dinga, Lindsey (Randy) Hebel and Dan (Brenda) Dinga; three great-grandchildren, Sydney and Sam Ness and Hunter DeWitt; and her sister, Helen Abbott. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Curt; her parents; beloved son, Jerome; brothers, Edward and Oscar; and sister, Pearle Randall. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee St., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Tuesday, June 19, 2007. We would like to thank Dr. Schug and Barb from the Dean Medical Center, for their years of love and support. Special thanks to everyone from Home Health United, especially Gail and Joy. Warm thanks to everyone at HospiceCare, especially Linda, April and Nancy, who were there at the end. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established. "To John and Nancy, Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for accepting Mother into your home for 15 years. Nancy-you nurtured and cared for our Mother, out of pure love and compassion. You were always by her side, never complaining. You stayed with her and prayed with her, because your love was and is unending. I Love You for all of this. I thank God for having a sister like you. Pat"
