Obituary
Cox, Edward D. CROSS PLAINS - Edward D. Cox, age 69, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at University Hospital in Madison. He was born on March 31, 1938, at home in Madison, the son of George and Mary (Schroeder) Cox. Ed attended grade school at Holy Redeemer Catholic School and graduated from Brodhead High School, he then went on to join the United States Navy. Ed was employed with the University Hospital for over 28 years, retiring in 1997. Ed was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, who greatly enjoyed both the Badgers and the Packers. He loved all animals and had treasured the time spent with his sister and her animals. Ed was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He is survived by his sister, Peggy (Kevin Darrah) Cox and many other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, with Father Tom Kelley presiding. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Ed was a gentle soul and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eddie was a friend to all showing kindness and consideration. I worked at the Coffee Shop with Eddie and saw him peel hundreds of pounds of potatoes! He gave me a pair of earrings for Christmas one year and I still have them. My sincere sympathy to Peggy.

I was very sorry to hear of Eddie's death. My condolences to the family. Eddie was always a uniquely genuine person. From 49 years ago in Brodhead, I still have fond memories of him.

He will be missed by many. He was always a special part of the Class of 1958 from Brodhead High School.
