Carl Schmidt

Schmidt, Carl J. MIDDLETON - Carl J. Schmidt, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 17, 2007. He was born on June 16, 1941, in West Bend, the son of Elmer and Marie (Shield) Schmidt. Carl graduated valedictorian from West Bend High School and went on to further his education at Marquette University, completing his Pre-Med studies in three years. Carl then earned his B. S. in medical services from the UW-Madison. Carl enjoyed interacting with people, but treasured most the time spent with his family. He was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church. Carl is survived by two children, Jeffrey (Magdalena) Schmidt of Woodbridge, Va. and Rebecca Schmidt of Madison; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Schmidt of Woodbridge, Va.; a brother, Jerome (Bonnie) Schmidt of Brookfield; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Private family burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Madison. Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton. Friends may also call on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
