Polglase, Everett D. "Sparky" SUN CITY, ARIZ./ MADISON - Everett D. "Sparky" Polglase, age 86, passed away in Sun City, Ariz., on Sunday, May 13, 2007. Sparky was born on March 18, 1921, in North Freedom, the son of William and Etha Polglase. He graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1939. Everett proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. After the war, Sparky worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad and the American News Company. He then began his career with the U.S. Postal Service, working as a letter carrier in Monona for more than 30 years. Everett was united in marriage to Margaret L. "Maggie" Giese, May 4, 1946; she preceded him in death in 1995. He was then united in marriage to Alice Marking, on Oct. 30, 1998. Sparky loved spending time with his family, especially going to carnivals and days spent at the beach. He loved looking for treasures at yard sales, collected clocks and trains and enjoyed eating out with his family and friends. We are so thankful that in Sparkys last days, he accepted Jesus into his heart. He is survived by his wife, Alice Polglase of Sun City, Ariz.; his three daughters, JoAnn Pond, Karen (Steve Henry) Edmundson and Toni (Fred J.) Schulze; six grandchildren, Michelle (Todd) King, Scott (Esther) Edmundson, Stacie Brozek, Kari (Sodara) Orn, Fred Andrew Schulze and Brett Schulze; five great-grandchildren, William and Annika Edmundson, Skyler and Sydney King and Alex Orn; step-daughter, Billie Jo (Tony) Marino; two step-grandchildren, Eleana and Joshua Marino; two sisters, Ila Wermuth and Janice (Ed) Niebuhr; three sisters-in-law, Margaret C. Polglase, Pat Bredeson and Liz (Les) Faford; two brothers-in-law, Ted Veloff and Larry OKroley and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Margaret; sisters, Arlene Veloff and Phyllis OKroley; brother, Beuford "Bloop" Polglase; brother-in-law, Frank Wermuth and two infant brothers, William and Ernest. A memorial visitation celebrating Sparkys life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. A private inurnment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery.
