Bahr, Corrine L. MIDDLETON - Corrine L. Bahr, age 58, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the University Hospital surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Feb. 23, 1949, in Madison, the daughter of Glenys and Belva (Rear) Austin. Corrine worked for the University of Wisconsin for the past 38 years as an administrator for the Bio Medical Engineering Department located in the Engineering Centers Building. She was united in marriage to Dennis Bahr on June 10, 1972, in Mount Vernon. She was active in the Bahai Faith, AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc., Supper Club for Ethnic and Racial Harmony, Middleton Historical Society and the Good Neighbor Festival where she served as board member for over 12 years. Corrine was recognized as an honorary "Good Neighbor of the Year" in 2006. She loved quilting and volunteered by knitting baby hats for Meriter Hospital. Corrine is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dennis of Middleton; and their children, Aaron (Seren) of Madison and Angela of Madison; her parents, Glenys and Belva Austin of Belleville; a brother, Donald (Mary) Austin of Belleville, two sisters, Beverly (Robert) Flanagan of Belleville and Jean Austin of Madison; her mother-in-law, Janet Bahr; a brother-in-law, Fredric (Jamie) Bahr of Seattle, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Beverly (Gary) Paul of Cadott, nieces, nephews, and the friends and colleagues around the world whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be held at the MONONA TERRACE, 1 John Nolen Drive, Madison at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007. Entombment will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton. Friends may also call on Friday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at the Monona Terrace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Corrine to further cancer research, the University of Wisconsin Childrens Hospital or to the donors choice of a charitable organization.

Your family and our community has lost a very important person in our lives...But she joins those we've lost before her. We know they are waiting for her with open arms. We feel Paul is there to welcome and look after her as he did on earth. Our family has been so blessed to have had Corinnes guidance as young Bahais for over 25 years. You're all in our prayers. Very sorry to hear of Corrine's passing. She was a beautiful spiritual lady--always a lady. She was taken from us way too soon. I will keep all of you in my prayers, and Corrine too.

Please accept my deepest sympathy to you and all of the family. I was so sorry to hear that Corrine had a relapse and it was so grave. God must have need of her up in heaven to take her home at this time of her life. Corrine and her family were our next door neighbors for many years. I went to elementary school with her at Harker Grade School. I know I am far away, but it will be sad to know she is not there when I come back to Wisconsin to visit. I know it is very devastating to Glenys and Belva, Don and Mary, Bob and Beverly and Jean and all the children. I know she will be greatly missed by all.
May God Bless you all and comfort you all in this time of such a great loss. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers.
