Obituary
Marsh, Eloise M. MADISON - Our mother, grandmother and great-grandma, Eloise M. Marsh, age 90, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on March 20, 1917, to Carl and Mary Edmunds, in Madison, where she was a life long resident. In 1936, she was united in marriage to Harry C. Marsh, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was an administrative assistant in the department of biochemistry at UW-Madison, retiring in 1982. Eloise was an active long-time member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was active in civic affairs and was the corresponding secretary and charter member of the Dane County Association of Health Council and also served as corresponding secretary of the Dane County chapter of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. Eloise was a member and former secretary of the UW-Madison service club, a clerk for eight years for the Badger School District, served on the Madison area PTA council, past president of the Badger School PTA, a den mother for the Badger School Cub Scouts, served on the Town of Madison Board of Health, supervised the summer activities at the Town of Madison Parks and numerous other civic activities. She is survived by her son, Glenn (Karen) Marsh; two grandchildren, Renee (Kelly) St. Clair and Craig Marsh; a great-granddaughter, Josselyn St. Clair; two sisters, Lenore Levake and Etola Matz; a brother-in-law, Donald (Ruth) Marsh; and many nieces and nephews. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Carlyle. Due to a remodeling project at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Funeral Services will be held at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 26, 2007, with the Rev. Mary Pharmer presiding. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marks Lutheran Church, 605 Spruce St., Madison, WI 53715. Her family and the caring staff were always near her in the final days. We thank all the staff for making her last year a happy home, especially her caregivers, Mary L., Lou, Mary V., Andrea, Heather; niece, Mary Lee (Jim) Brimmer and St. Marys Hospital in her final days.

Your Mother and Grandmother was such a nice person. I will remember her for being both respectful and having such a sense of humor. I have to give her credit for having such a nice family.
