Audrey Hurd

Hurd, Audrey J. SUN PRAIRIE - Audrey J. Hurd, age 72, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Nov. 6, 1934, in Madison, to Valerius and Georgia (Stang) Stroede. Audrey resided in Madison until 1958 and then moved to Sun Prairie. She graduated from Madison East High School in 1952. Audrey married Phillip Hurd on July 13, 1957, in Madison. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2005. Audrey worked for the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Diploma Division, retiring in 1998. She was a member of Eastside Evangelical Lutheran Church. Audrey enjoyed gardening, crocheting, spending time with her grandchildren, and caring for her family. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Badgers Hockey fan. Audrey is survived by her sons, William Hurd of Sun Prairie and Stephen (Diana) Hurd of Deerfield; grandchildren, Kyle Hurd of Oak Creek, and Lucas Hurd and Briana Hurd, both of Deerfield; two brothers, Tom (Bonnie) Stroede of Cazenovia, and Mike (Sherry) Stroede of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Virginia (Wilmer) Ott of Columbus; and sisters-in-law, Juliane Stroede of Sun Prairie, Joyce Stroede and Sadie Stroede, both of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Eugene, George and Robert. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, with the Rev. Glen Schmiege presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
