Thomas Mandt

Mandt, Thomas O. COTTAGE GROVE - Thomas O. Mandt, age 81, left this life to join his Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on Oct. 19, 1925, the son of Rudy and Helen Niebur-Mandt. Thomas was a member of his beloved church, Burke Lutheran on Portage Road, Madison. He worked at Hansens Advertising for 21 years. Thomas went into business with Dennis Rahn at Advance Signs until he retired. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Olson-Mandt of Cottage Grove; daughter, Sherry (Byron) Osterlie of Minnesota; grandsons, Scott (Brenda) Osterlie and their children, Alex and Jessica of Minnesota, Owen (Sara) and their son, Owen James of Wisconsin, and David (Molly) Osterlie of Hawaii; siblings, Anna Mae Dhalk of Madison, Vernon (Delores) Mandt of Deerfield, Bill (Peggy) Mandt of West Salem, Jack (Joanie) Mandt of Deerfield, and Alice Knapton of Sun Prairie; many special nieces, nephews and friends; and his very special dog, Cuddles. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fritz; and two sisters, Marian and Lois. Funeral services will be held at BURKE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, at 10 a.m., on Thursday, April 5, 2007, with the Rev. Russ Leeper presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the church in memory of Thomas.
