Obituary
Argue, Dorothy F. VERONA - Dorothy F. Argue, age 93, of Verona, formerly of Madison, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on a farm near Erie, N.D., on Dec. 12, 1913, to Howard and Carroll Capener. Dorothy moved to Wisconsin in 1934 and married Lincoln B. Argue on Jan. 30, 1936. They farmed outside of New Glarus, before moving to Madison in 1945. Dorothy was employed at the University Dairy Husbandry Department for five years, and transferred to USAFI (United States Armed Forces Institute) for an additional five years. In 1955, she transferred to the United States Department of Agriculture, Animal Health Division and remained there until June 1973, when she retired at age 59. Dorothy was a long time member of Evangel Life Center, Madison and served as organist and member of the choir for many years. She was a warm and loving Christian mother and grandmother and well loved by everyone. In addition, Dorothy had an unwavering faith in the Lord and a servant attitude. She was gentle, cheerful, pleasant and always had a smile for everyone. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling to Europe and the Holy Land. She is survived by a daughter, Joan (Tom) Gering of Verona; a son, Lowell (Cindy) Argue of Oconomowoc; six grandchildren, Dawn (Randy) Dorning of Mount Horeb, Diana (Les) Howles of Madison, David (Heidi) Gering of Waukesha, Steven (Jenny) Argue of Grand Rapids, Mich., Erik (Sue) Argue of Hartland and Greta Argue of Milwaukee; 11 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lincoln B. Argue, in 1972; a son, Alvin Allen, in 1942; two brothers, Alvin E. Capener and Everett M. Capener; and a sister, Avis Daniel. Funeral services will be held at EVANGEL LIFE CENTER, 4402 Femrite Drive, Madison, at noon on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, with the Rev. John Clark presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. The family suggests memorials may be made to Evangel Life Center. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Willow Pointe Assisted Living Facility and the St. Marys Hospital staff, for their exemplary care and concern.
