Lennes Schlobohm

Schlobohm, Lennes E. DEERFIELD - Lennes E. "Len" Schlobohm, age 75, of Deerfield, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1932, in Fairbault, Minn., to Emmett A. and Florence M. (Bauer) Schlobohm. Len married Barbara Kearney while serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Following the service, they moved to Madison where he started his excavating and grading business. Barbara preceded him in death in 1965. Len married Mariellen Auger in December 1968. After retiring, Len developed a passion for writing, which he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, farming and photography. Len was a member of the Commonwealth Masonic Lodge for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mariellen of Deerfield; seven children, Steve, Lennes (Jody), Greg, Tim (Nicole), Anneve (John) Munson, Mike (Mary) and Cheryl (Kevin) Uphoff; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ladonna (Jack) Shobe and Lylee (Orv) Ehster. Len was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2007, with Bishop Byron Marquez presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
