Darrel Willison

Willison, Darrel J. OREGON - Darrel J. Willison, age 85, of Oregon, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on June 26, 1921, in Sylvan, Wis., the son of Samuel and Hazel (Walters) Willison. Darrel married Bertha Roeben on July 8, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. After serving in the military, the couple farmed in the Richland Center area. Darrel was a mechanic in Madison for more than 25 years. He loved nature and the outdoors and was an excellent fisherman and hunter. Darrel enjoyed bluegrass music and Harleys. He is survived by his children, Gerald (Judy) Willison of Oregon, Beverly Willison of Madison, Richard (Mary) Willison of Richland Center, James (Marguerite) Willison of Oregon and Carol Willison of Oregon; grandchildren, Amy (Wayne) LeBansky of Richland Center and Jerome Willison of Oregon; a step-grandson, Peter Maogen Peng of Oregon; and a step-granddaughter, Deanna Gabalt of Madison. Darrel was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha; and his parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, with the Rev. Paul Marquart presiding. Burial will be at Willow Valley Cemetery, Ithaca, Wis. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007.
