Kampschoer, Charles MIDDLETON - Charles Kampschoer, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1923, in Stevens Point, the son of John and Mary (Phillips) Kampschoer. Charles was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. He earned his bachelor of science degree in agriculture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Charles married Hazel Johnson in May of 1947, in Rudolph, Wis. He was employed with the Greenwood School District as a teacher before joining the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture as a legal investigator, retiring in 1985. Charles was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church in Middleton and the Knights of Columbus, having served as Grand Knight and receiving his 50 year pin. He was also a past leader for the Boy Scouts of Clintonville. Charles had a variety of interests including photography and canoeing with his sons, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hazel; his children, Charles (Lori) of Chicago, Paula (Tom) Blankenheim of Madison and John (Margaret) of Mazomanie; his grandchildren, Heather, Katie, Jeff, Jenny, Adam and Dana; and his brothers, John (Lucille) of Stevens Point, James (Julie) of New Jersey and Robert (Jo) of Detroit. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Sister Mary Bernard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Marys Hospital for their loving care.
