Edwin Hammond

Hammond, Edwin Earl "Ed" CAMBRIDGE - Edwin Earl "Ed" Hammond, age 93, of Cambridge, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at University Hospital. He was born on Jan. 1, 1914, in Ellisville, Ill., the son of Julius and Murle (Hines) Hammond. Ed was united in marriage to Audrey Lutz on March 7, 1942, in Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Ed worked at Rundel-Spence until he retired more than 30 years ago. Ed enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Audrey of Cambridge; two sons, Larry Hammond of McFarland and Phil Hammond of Madison; two grandchildren, Rick (Jackie) Hammond of McFarland and Kevin (Tracy) Hammond of Stoughton; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Alaina Hammond of McFarland; and a sister, Janevera McNett of Indianapolis. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Leta Derrickson and Susetta Marinich; a brother, Gerald; and cousin, Don Hines. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3 p.m., on Monday, March 26, 2007, with the Rev. Ken Henkel presiding. Entombment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
