Koppenhaver, Valera M. MADISON - Valera M. Koppenhaver, age 89, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Peter and Ellen Johnson HospiceCare Center. She was born on July 5, 1917, in Shawano, the daughter of Rudolph and Emma (Jantz) Zingler. Val married Albert Koppenhaver on Dec. 25, 1940, in Shawano. She worked as a crossing guard at the Herbert Schenk/ Whitehorse School. Val was a member of the Eastern Star, Eagles Club, Eastside Businessmans Association, Kayra and Bashford United Methodist Church. She is survived by her four sons, Rodger (Jean), Robert (Ann), Kenneth and David Lee; four grandchildren, Kevin (Robin), Kristin (Michael) Drewieck, Matthew and Adam; three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob Drewieck, and Kimberly Koppenhaver; two sisters, Leila Olson and Luella Whitney; a brother, Leland (Isla) Zingler; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; parents; and three brothers, Rudy, Carl and Marlin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. at BASHFORD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 329 North St., with the Rev. Edmond White presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711; or to the Alzheimer Association, 517 N. Segoe Road, Madison, WI 53705. Theres a special place in heaven for a mother of four boys.
