Genevera Winburn

Winburn, Genevera J. "Genny" MADISON - Genevera J. "Genny" Winburn, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 10, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 15, 1923, in Madison, the daughter of Clarence and Ada (Shaffer) Wilson. Genny was united in marriage to Robert R. Winburn on March 6, 1943. He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2002. She had an incredible work ethic and took great pride in working throughout her life. Genny was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Genny was a very generous person and always remembered everyones birthdays and special occasions. She is survived by her seven children, Raymond (Sharon) of Verona, William (Sharon) of Westport, John (Emily) of Evansville, Gary (Linda) of Neshkoro, Martha (Jim) Wickert of Madison, David (Shannon) of Madison and Patricia (Terry) Meyer of Madison; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Cora (Grant) Shinnick; sister-in-law, Peg Wilson; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sally, Tammy, Darlene, Judy and Karen; and lifelong friend and travel companion, Joan Thompson. Genny was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Glen Wilson. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, with the Rev. John Ruppenthal presiding. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
